The Breath in Between

Before we go any further, I would like you to stop for a moment and just take a deep breath.
This is not some self-help exercise but more a way of understanding what June itself feels like, the pause between breaths. The cosmos also seems, briefly at least, to be taking its foot off the accelerator and after the pace and intensity of the first five months of 2026, perhaps that is exactly what is needed. This year has felt like a rollercoaster, occasionally exciting, at times unsettling, and at moments deeply spiritually strange. I have found myself wondering whether many of us feel as though we are living through altered realities, not because reality itself is somehow false, but because what once felt solid no longer seems to hold in quite the same way.
Something fundamental has changed - The ground has shifted.
One of the strangest realisations is that we are clearly living through a historic moment in time. With so much happening, one after the other, we can now all see that history really does happen in real time. The difficulty is that while we are living through our own personal change, it is hard to see the bigger picture. Instead, we feel the pressure of pace, the uncertainty, and the sense that life is moving faster than we can comfortably process. This makes June important, it feels like a breather. Not empty, not uneventful, but a moment to stop long enough to take stock.
Looking Back…
Looking back over the first five months of this year, three dominant threads seem to have quietly shaped much of our experience.
· The first has been a questioning of what is real, true, and sustainable. The Saturn–Neptune conjunction at zero Aries in February has blurred certainty while demanding honesty. Old assumptions, identities, and stories no longer seem to fit as comfortably as they once did. One moment life seems obvious, the next it feels as though you are standing on unfamiliar ground.
· The second thread has been instability around identity and direction. With so much Aries energy moving through the year, difficult but necessary questions have surfaced. Who am I now? What matters? What can no longer be ignored? Yet this has not felt like the excitement of a neat new beginning. More often, it has felt like standing between versions of ourselves, aware something old has ended but not entirely sure what is emerging next.
· And threaded through everything has been acceleration, so much, so fast. Emotionally, psychologically, collectively, it can feel as though several chapters of life have unfolded in quick succession. Uranus finishing Taurus has continued to unsettle the ground beneath our feet, while Pluto quietly asks deeper questions about the fundamentals of our systems, what we see as truth, leadership, technology, and to begin to recognise where power truly sits.
Whether political or personal, world weariness feels widespread, with old certainties, institutions, assumptions, and sometimes even old versions of ourselves no longer fitting in quite the same way. A phrase from the news recently stayed with me:
“Disenchantment with democracy and dissatisfaction with political leaders is ubiquitous.”
Perhaps that is the point, something is changing, within us as well as in the outside world, and June is simply giving us the space to stop long enough to notice what it might be.
What June Is Asking Of Us
This month feels as though we are being given the opportunity to process the reality of what this year has been about so far. That matters, because once we stop long enough to take stock, we naturally begin to ask bigger questions. What is actually changing? How might those changes affect the way we live, work, communicate, relate, and think about the future? The world feels as though it is moving through a kind of metamorphosis. That can feel uncomfortable, uncertain, and destabilising, yet transition periods rarely feel graceful while we are living through them. History happens in real time, and real change usually feels messy before it feels meaningful.
As Aquarius and Gemini energies begin to strengthen over the coming years, themes around communication, networks, information, technology, distributed intelligence, and rapid shifts in perspective become increasingly important. Uranus moving into Gemini at the end of April can bring genuine flashes of inspiration, sudden understanding, and those unmistakable “aha” moments where something suddenly clicks into place and changes the way you see things. With so much happening, quietly and without panic, it may be time to begin forming a new plan for your future living, not because the future is frightening, but because the world is changing and we are changing with it.
Perhaps one of the quieter lessons of this time is remembering that we have more agency in our lives than we think. We may not control the wider tides of history, politics, economics, or the behaviour of others, but we do have influence over how we meet the moment. How we respond, what we nourish, what part of ourselves we refuse to hand over, and where we place our attention, because that is where our energy naturally goes. Perhaps most importantly of all is to be aware of who we become in the middle of this change.
This feels like a good time to review what has shifted since January, not only in the outer world, but within ourselves. What have recent months shown you? What no longer feels true? What have you begun to understand about yourself, your life, and the direction you may now be moving in?
There is wisdom in pausing long enough to hear your own thoughts again, and perhaps there is wisdom too in remembering that not every answer arrives immediately.
Looking Ahead
If the first part of the year has largely been about change, questioning, disillusionment, and finding our feet again, both inwardly and outwardly, then from July onwards some of those shifts may begin to show themselves more clearly in our everyday life. In July it begins to feel as though the fog may be lifting, at least a little. Harmonious connections around the middle of the month suggest the possibility of genuine insight, alignment, and perhaps moments where things suddenly click into place. There is also an unusual relationship forming between four major planets, which may point towards something important emerging or becoming clearer, although I will explore that more deeply when we get there.
What I am seeing is that while 2026 has so far asked us to live with uncertainty, the second half of the year may ask rather more from us. There may well be more acceleration ahead, more revelations, and more evidence that old systems are struggling to hold their shape. Yet this does not simply point to disruption. Gemini and Aquarius also speak of intelligence, communication, innovation, adaptation, and connection. They favour curiosity over rigidity, questioning over blind certainty, and participation over helplessness.
This may not be the most comfortable period in history, but it could prove to be an extraordinarily creative one. Perhaps that is worth remembering, because we are not standing outside these changes watching them unfold. We are living them, responding to them, and in ways we may not yet fully realise, helping to shape what comes next. The way we respond to change, what we give our attention to, and who we choose to become may matter more than we yet realise.
