Ready, Steady, Go!! - Just don't forget your map!

There are some months that drift quietly into our lives and others that seem to arrive with a flourish. July is definitely one of the latter. It feels as though someone has fired the starting pistol and suddenly everything is moving at once. Conversations gather pace, ideas appear from nowhere, plans change direction and the world feels just a little less predictable than it did a few weeks ago. The June Solstice is behind us, the longest day has passed, the light has revealed what it needed to reveal and, although summer still stretches before us, the wheel has already begun to turn. July arrives with the feeling that someone has gently pressed the fast forward button. There is momentum now, but the astrology offers one important reminder before we race ahead.

Early July

Fire and air energy dominate the skies, encouraging movement, fresh thinking and a willingness to experiment. Jupiter has recently entered Leo, bringing warmth, confidence and the courage to create from the heart. During the opening days of the month Venus joins Jupiter, reminding us that friendship, creativity, generosity and laughter are not distractions from life, they are part of what makes life worth living.

Mercury, however, is retrograde in Cancer and quietly plays the role of sensible navigator. While Mars wants to accelerate and Uranus delights in shaking things up, Mercury gently asks, "Have you checked the map?" Looking back is not always a step backwards. Sometimes it helps us understand where we are really heading.

Neptune also begins its retrograde journey this month, followed later by Saturn, together they remind us that progress is not always measured by speed. Sometimes the greatest step forward begins with a pause, a moment of reflection and the willingness to ask whether our dreams, our commitments and even our direction still reflect who we are becoming.

Mid July

As the month unfolds, the excitement begins asking deeper questions. We are living through extraordinary advances in communication and technology, and artificial intelligence seems increasingly likely to become one of those defining developments that future generations will simply take for granted, much as we now do with electricity or the internet or google.

Astrology often reflects the spirit of the times, Uranus in Gemini symbolises innovation, fresh thinking and new ways of exchanging ideas. Travelling alongside Uranus is Sedna, often associated with deep instinct, resilience and the wisdom that emerges through life's greatest challenges. Together they suggest that our greatest breakthroughs may come not simply from acquiring more knowledge, but from learning how to balance innovation with wisdom, intelligence with intuition and progress with humanity.

Midway through July we also reach one of the most fascinating energetic signatures of the year. Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius all stand close to four degrees of their new signs. Although they are not joined through traditional aspects, together they create an extraordinary resonance, almost as though four great evolutionary currents are beginning to flow in the same direction. Creativity, fresh thinking, inspired vision and collective transformation all seem to be gathering strength at the same time. Looking back, we may one day recognise this as one of those moments when history quietly began to change course.

Late July

As July draws to a close, the pace becomes steadier. Venus has moved into Virgo, encouraging us to become a little more discerning. Which ideas deserve our energy? Which relationships nourish us? Which commitments genuinely support the life we want to create? Saturn's retrograde invites us to strengthen our foundations rather than simply build higher, it also asks us to be honest about what is sustainable, what needs more care and what we are now ready to leave behind.

At much the same time the lunar Nodes quietly change signs, gently redirecting the collective story. It feels rather like turning a page in a book, we may not immediately notice the difference, but gradually the questions begin to change. Less, "Who am I?" and more, "What am I here to contribute?".

The New and Full Moons this month also feel like stepping stones towards the eclipse season arriving in August. Think of them as gentle rehearsals rather than dramatic finales, it seems life has a habit of dropping little clues before it asks us to make bigger decisions. Notice what keeps catching your attention, the conversations that won't quite leave your mind, the opportunities that keep reappearing and even the challenges that refuse to disappear. They may be pointing towards something much more significant than they first appear.

The Quiet Thread

As I step back from all the movement and noise of July, one quiet thread seems to run through the entire month. Chiron's move into Taurus reminds us that healing isn't about becoming someone else, it is about becoming more completely ourselves, grounded in what is real, what has value and what truly sustains us. Alongside this, Sedna's journey with Uranus reminds us that not every breakthrough arrives through logic alone, some emerge through intuition, deep listening, lived experience and ancient wisdom finding its rightful place alongside innovation. As I look ahead, I find myself wondering whether the world will gradually come to value three qualities more than ever before.

Wisdom: Discernment: Human connection

Information has never been more abundant, but Wisdom helps us understand what truly matters. Discernment helps us recognise what deserves our attention and what quietly distracts us. Human connection reminds us that, despite all our advances, we still grow best alongside one another. How we develop these qualities is deeply personal, there is no single right way, but perhaps July quietly invites us to begin. Perhaps this is the revolution of consciousness that so many people sense, not one dramatic moment, but millions of ordinary people making more conscious choices, one day at a time. One person's courage inspires another, and another, until something much larger begins to emerge.

July doesn't ask us to know more. It asks us to become more.

The stars may illuminate the path ahead, but it is the human spirit that chooses how the journey unfolds
