Where are we now?

I do not think we can really talk about April without acknowledging what is already happening. Things feel volatile now, not just politically, but energetically as well, there is a sharpness in the air, a sense that people are reacting rather than responding, and that something underneath it all is under strain. We do not have to look very far to see it; at the end of February, military strikes involving the United States , Israel and Iran pushed an already fragile situation into open conflict. That alone tells you something about the pressure we are under globally, but it is not just that, there is also a growing sense that what we have thought of as “the West” is not as unified as it once appeared. Differences in approach and priorities are becoming more visible, and it raises a question that many people have been quietly asking for some time, are we witnessing a kind of split? Not a dramatic break, but a widening difference in how nations, and people, see the future and how it should be handled.
This is not separate from our own lives as it filters through everything, from energy and money to the general sense of stability. If you are honest, you can probably feel it in your own life as well, things not quite sitting right and there is a sense that something about the way things are that cannot continue.
At the beginning of the month, you may find yourself noticing things more clearly than before, not necessarily because anything new has happened, but because you can no longer look at certain situations in quite the same way. This might show up as a quiet but persistent awareness that something is not working, it could be a relationship dynamic, a way of living, a financial pressure, or simply a feeling that you have outgrown something you have been holding onto. There can be a sense of “I cannot keep doing this in the same way anymore”.
Earlier this year, in February, Saturn and Neptune came together at zero degrees of Aries. It did not arrive with a big announcement, it was subtle, almost easy to miss, but it marked the beginning of something. April is where we begin to feel the reality of that, it may not bring easy answers, it rarely does when major cycles shift. Yet moments like this carry creative potential, because the future has not yet been fully defined. The structures that once seemed immovable are beginning to loosen, new ones are only just starting to appear, it’s a bit like being on a wobble board in the dark so you need to sharpen your senses.
Early April
The early part of the month is not about action, its about clarity, and that can feel more uncomfortable than we might expect. There may be moments where things become more evident than you would like, realisations about what is not working, what you have outgrown, or what you have been quietly tolerating for longer than you should. There is a certain honesty in this, but it can feel exposing, the illusion of how things have been working begins to fall away, and once you see something clearly, you cannot unsee it. Because of that, this is not a time to push forward or force decisions, its more a time to sit with what is becoming clear, even if it feels unsettling, and to allow that understanding to settle properly. From that place, something more truthful begins to form, so when you do move, it will come from somewhere real, not reactive emotion.
As the month unfolds, you may begin to feel a stronger shift inside yourself. What was once just a quiet awareness starts to press a little more firmly, there is a growing sense that something must change, even if you are not entirely sure what that looks like yet. Alongside that, there is tension, part of you may still want things to stay as they were, simply because they are familiar, this is where April holds both its difficulty and its potential. Everything feels fluid and uncertain, not quite settled, and yet something is clearly shifting.
You may not have the answers, but you can feel that you are no longer standing in the same place and this is where something important begins. The first step to changing anything is to face it honestly. So if this part of the month feels raw, unsettling, or quietly confronting, it does not mean anything is going wrong, it just means the fog is lifting and you are starting to see clearly.
Mid April
By the middle of the month, the tone shifts, what has been reflective starts to move, and you can feel it, energy builds, things speed up, and there is a growing sense that you cannot stay where you are. You may find yourself thinking more quickly, speaking more directly, or feeling less willing to tolerate situations that have been going round in circles. Conversations that have been avoided may now need to happen, and decisions that were delayed can suddenly feel unavoidable. There is a boldness here, but also impatience, things can move more quickly than expected and yet, underneath that urgency, there is weight. This is not just impulsive energy, it has gravitas, so be aware of this because what begins now can carry forward shaping what comes next in lasting ways.
You may notice a pattern within yourself, first a feeling or instinct, something you sense before you fully understand it, then the need to act on it, to give it form, insight comes first, and action follows. Because of this, it can feel like you are at a turning point, not always dramatic, but internally very clear, a moment where something inside you says, enough now.
At the same time, this forward movement can bring something older to the surface, a familiar feeling, a sensitivity, something you thought you had moved past, this is not a step backwards, it is part of the process. You do not move forward without meeting what has been sitting underneath and often, it is through acknowledging it that something begins to loosen. So if something surfaces, let it, feel it, and then allow yourself to move beyond it. This is not just about action in its raw sense, it is about moving forward with awareness, rather than repeating what has already run its course.
Late April
The final part of the month brings things into sharp focus as Uranus reaches 29° Taurus. This is a powerful degree and marks a culmination of this energy. Since 2018 Uranus has been disrupting how we relate to money, resources, and the basic structures that support everyday life. Now that process reaches a decisive point, where something can shift more clearly. You can already feel it, rising costs, pressure around energy, and a growing sense that what once felt stable no longer quite is. This reflects a system under strain and when systems are under strain, people react. Things feel sharper, more divided, and at times more extreme But underneath that, something deeper is being revealed.
With everything being stripped back, it is becoming harder to ignore a simple truth, life cannot continue in quite the way it has, as this cycle completes, you may begin to define what that means for you.
During this period, the intensity builds, there may be sudden insights, unexpected developments, or moments of realisation that challenge long-held assumptions about security and value, you will probably notice this in your own life, ie a shift in what matters, or a quiet awareness that something needs to change. For some, this may show up in practical ways, around finances or lifestyle, for others, it may be more internal, a realisation that something once valued no longer holds the same meaning and in that sense, late April feels like a reset.
Of course, this isn’t the end of the story, when Uranus moves into Gemini at the end of the month, the focus shifts again and what has been reshaping your material world since 2018 will begin to move into how we communicate information, and how we connect and understand the world. So April brings us to the edge of something, a moment where we see clearly what has been changing all along and where we begin to understand what that really means.
In Summary
April feels like a turning point, even if we cannot fully explain why. There is a clear sense that something is shifting, both in the world around us and in our own lives, things that once felt solid are no longer quite holding in the same way, and yet what comes next is not fully clear. That can feel unsettling, even a little frightening at times, because we are being asked to sit in uncertainty without clear answers but there is also something else present beneath that. A quiet awareness that we are beginning to see things more honestly than before.
At the start of the month, this may show up as simple but important realisations, you may notice what is no longer working, or what cannot continue in the same way. As the month moves on, something begins to shift, you may feel more direct, more willing to speak honestly, or more ready to take action, even in small ways. At the same time, the wider world reflects this same pressure, there is instability, rising concern around money and energy, and a sense that the systems we rely on are being severely tested. This can make everything feel more divided, and at times overwhelming but it also brings clarity because it becomes harder to ignore what is no longer working.
If you look back, you may recognise this kind of moment or something like it, think about your life in 2018, and before that in 1989. At that time, those periods may not have made sense, but they changed something in your life or the way you lived life, they marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. This feels like another one of those thresholds.
So perhaps the question is not what is going to happen next, perhaps it is simpler than that. Now that we are seeing more clearly, even if only a little, what are we going to do with that?
Because whether we feel ready or not, it has already begun and change is upon us.
